Attention Graduating Seniors (all majors):
(Florida A&M University and Howard University is now accepting applications for the Media Sales Institute taking place May 9-19 and June 5-17, 2011, respectively.
FAMU’s MSI is a 10-day intense training program designed to give 30 recent college graduates from across the nation a jump start in media management.
- Selected applicants are immersed in a fast-paced learning environment designed to prepare talented individuals for positions in radio, television, cable, print and digital sales.
- Top industry professionals serve as faculty, and recruiters from reputable media companies come ready to offer entry level-positions.Previous recruiters include: ABC, CBS, NBC Universal, Cumulus, Clear Channel, KATZ Media, Gannett, Comcast, COX and Morris Communications.
- The MSI is open to all Fall 2010/Spring 2011 graduates of any four-year college or university. All majors may apply. In fact, some MSI graduates majored in mathematics, agricultural science and theatre. Preference, however, will be given to communication and business majors.
Howard’s MSI program is an intense twelve-day workshop designed to introduce 35 graduating seniors to the nuts and bolts of media sales as a career. The Institute will serve as a pipeline to funnel excellent students into the business of media sales. During the thirteen-day program, students will be immersed in a fast paced learning environment. Professionals from the industry will serve as the Institute’s “faculty” and will be prepared to offer employment to selected graduates.
FAMU’s deadline is March 25 and Howard’s deadline is April 1.
