BCCA annually conducts the Excellence in Journalism competition to encourage and recognize excellence among HBCU student journalists and newspapers. The contest is open to BCCA member publications. We hope that each will contribute its best journalistic efforts so that the contest will be representative of the best in HBCU student publications.
Student-produced work is judged by notable journalists across the country. Students submit entries for 16 categories with the crowning glory being the Best HBCU Student Newspaper award. The winners are announced at a banquet on the final night of the National HBCU Student News Media Conference.
DEADLINE: All entries must be postmarked by Dec. 10, 2011. Eligible entries must come from student-produced and student-edited newspapers published during the 2011 calendar year.
